Hello lovely ladies,
I recently watched a new movie on Netflix called The Life List based on the book by Lori Nelson Spielman — and it really struck a chord with me. So much so that I decided it's time to start a blog right here on my website and have a proper chat with you.
In South Africa, there’s still such a stigma around estate planning. The moment people hear those words, they think of death. Meanwhile, countries like the US and UK are moving forward confidently with estate planning — not just as a legal process, but as a personal, empowering one.
Yes, estate planning involves winding up your affairs one day, but it’s also a powerful tool for your life now. Think of it as a personal journal, a roadmap, or even a safety net. It becomes essential if, heaven forbid, something happens and you’re unable to speak for yourself.
That’s why Vault de Jure is so different. My research into international practices, especially in the US and UK, inspired me to blend that insight with my legal background — and create something far more meaningful than a standard estate plan.
The Life List reminded me of something we often forget: you have options. You're not limited to just putting words on paper. You can:
Record yourself reading your will
Create video messages for loved ones to receive on special occasions
Add family recipes to a cookbook to be gifted when the time is right
Your Vault of Rights holds all of this — your wishes, your memories, your voice — and I’ll be right here to help carry them out exactly as you intended.
So go on, give The Life List a watch. Then give me a call. Let’s start your journey together.
Wishing you a fabulous day!
God bless, Melanie
